Sichuan opera Jinzi is a reproduction from Cao Yu’s original novel Yuanye. It’s a love-hate story about the life of an ordinary Chinese female Jinzi during Republic of China. Chongqing Opera House initiated a film project in 2017 to make this Sichuan opera onto the big screen. This making of documentary records the motivations, drives of the Chinese opera team and their cooperation with BBC film team.
